Boys Club is a group from Minneapolis, United States, with a punk, electronic, pop and rock profile. The name is used by several different acts, including a Minneapolis punk rock group, a well-known Minneapolis pop duo, a Groningen post-punk band, and a Game Boy-based post-rock collaboration.

Minneapolis punk rock group

One version of Boys Club is a Minneapolis punk rock band made up of Steve on guitar, Todd on bass and Eli on drums. The group plays Killed By Death-style punk rock and releases This Is My Face, an EP from 2006. It follows with the single Girls of Today in 2007, the 2-D World EP in 2008, and a self-titled LP on Three Dimensional Records in 2009.

Minneapolis pop duo

Another Boys Club is the duo of Gene Hunt, also known as Eugene Wolfgramm of The Jets, and Joe Pasquale. This act is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is best known for the song I Remember Holding You, which reaches number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1989. The duo releases one album on MCA Records and is widely described in Minnesota as a local equivalent of Wham!.

Other acts using the name

BOYS CLUB is also the name of a post-punk band from Groningen. That group describes its music as genre-crossing, drawing on influences ranging from George Michael to Glenn Branca and moving between country, black metal, reggae and prog rock. Its lineup includes Justin Suande on guitar and vocals, Stephan Navasardjan on keys and vocals, Paul de Boer on drums, Ben van der Laan on bass, and Abraham on merch and taxes.

A further Boys Club is a collaboration involving Washington chipmusician ovenrake, also known as Dakota Clark, his friend James Resch, and a full band. This project uses Game Boys and live instrumentation to make post-rock, and releases a single 34-minute self-titled track through ovenrake’s Bandcamp page.
