Boss Keloid

Boss Keloid is a British group from Wigan, United Kingdom, active since 2010. The band forms in Wigan and is associated with progressive rock as well as sludge, sludge metal and post-metal.

History

The group forms in 2010 at a place they call the “Palace of Tits and Wine”. Their demo EP, Angular Beef Lesson, appears in summer 2010. Their debut album, The Calming Influence of Teeth, follows in spring 2013 on Pipelord Records. In July 2013 they release an official video for “Locking Stumps”, and in April 2014 they release another for “Skipper’s Pipes”.

Live activity and recognition

In early 2014, Boss Keloid reach the grand final of “Battle For Bloodstock” and also take part in a UK tour linked to Manchester in January and February 2014. That period includes a support slot for Soulfly in Manchester on 26 February 2014.

The band attracts coverage that describes its sound in terms of heavy riffing, technical playing and a blend of sludge, groove, post-hardcore, math and progressive elements. Their debut full-length is noted for its continuous riff pressure, distinctive guitar and drum interplay, and a mix of southern rock riffs, unusual time signatures and clean bellowed vocals.
