Bosch Stacey is a live electronic duo made up of brothers Jid and Ben Ives. They form in the early 1990s after both spend their musical youth playing in experimental and cover bands, with Jid on guitar and Ben on bass. Frustrated by what they see as a lack of commitment and ambition among other local musicians, they turn away from guitars and move towards synths and samplers, influenced by electronic music and the rise of the UK breakbeat scene.

Style and sound

The pair build a sound based on bass-heavy arrangements, dark riffs and breakbeat-driven rhythms, drawing mainly on electro, breakbeat and old skool influences. Their live sets also use blips, glitches and vocal hooks, delivered through Grooveboxes, monosynths and effects units. They are known for a loud, uncompromising performance style that is shaped for both sound and visual impact.
