Boogieman

Boogieman is the name of more than one band. One is a Japanese visual kei act that begins activity at the end of 2008 and releases its first mini-album in January 2009. It has a line-up drawn from the visual kei scene: Shu on vocals, previously of heartless; Yuana on guitar, previously of kagerou; Akira on guitar, previously of baroque; Bansaku on bass, also previously of baroque; and Yuuichirou on drums, previously of metronome. A former vocalist, Junno, previously of beaU, is also listed.

The other Boogieman is a Swedish rock band playing high-energy rock and roll with heavy guitar riffs and boogie rock grooves. It forms after a jam session grows into a serious project, and its members already have experience in other bands. The group records an early demo with the songs Red Sleeve, 14 Pictures, Lowest Point and Floating, and builds a live reputation by playing clubs around Sweden. It then wins a Swedish music competition, which leads to the recording of an EP made in 500 copies. That EP includes Red Sleeve, 14 Pictures, December, My Eyes and Infinity, and receives a strong response. The band later signs to the German label People Like You and uses the EP material, together with new songs, for its debut album, Triple Six Blues. The Swedish line-up is Hellvis on vocals, J.J Scat on guitar, Nikki on bass guitar and Tobbe on drums.
