Bolis Pupul is the Belgian electronic musician and producer Boris Zeebroek. He works in electro-pop, with dancefloor-oriented production, and his music is often described as drawing on new beat, electropop and techno as well as electronic forms more broadly.

Career

Pupul begins releasing solo material with the singles “Moon Theme/Sun Theme” and “Wei?/Teknow”. Much of his early career, however, is built around collaboration with fellow Belgian vocalist Charlotte Adigéry.

The pair are brought together as producers for the 2016 film Belgica, and the partnership develops into a long-running project. They release an initial EP under Adigéry’s name, followed by the 2019 single “High Lights” and the EP Zandoli. Their work combines dance music production with spoken and sung commentary on social issues, with Pupul responsible for the rhythmic and melodic base and Adigéry for the lyrical voice.

Release under both names

In 2021, Pupul and Adigéry start releasing music under both of their names. “Thank You” appears first under the joint billing, followed by “Blenda” and “HAHA”.

He signs to Soulwax’s label and makes his full-length debut with Topical Dancer in 2022, released with Charlotte Adigéry. The album continues their style of compact, ironic songs built on polished electronic production.
