Bob Burke
Bob Burke is an arranger and acoustic funk-folk artist from the New Forest in southern England. His solo work combines intimate folk songwriting with funk-influenced rhythms and a live performance approach. He also works as a producer and plays across several projects.
Career
Burke tours extensively as a solo artist in Europe, performs in the United States with Lou Brown, and plays in Russia with the metal band Sudarshan. He produces albums for other artists, including Lou Brown’s What are You Singing About? and Victor Chetcuti’s Something Else, both from 2007. He also performs on Tinderbox’s 2009 album Golden and on their later release State of Play.
Solo releases
His solo debut is Shadow of Mercury, released in 2008. On that recording, Burke is joined by Gav Jones on drums and percussion, Aimee Newsome-Stone on backing vocals, Si Genaro on harmonica, Catherine Burke on low whistle, and Andy Stone on guitar. Burke and Andy Stone produce the album, and the engineering is shared by the two of them.
