Blues

Blues is a group from Tucson, Arizona, in the United States. The band forms in 2004 under the name Blues for the Martyrs before shortening its name to Blues. It develops a heavy sound over several line-up changes and is active in hardcore, rock, blues, Southern rock, metalcore and related progressive rock territory.

Career

The band records its debut EP, Death & Taxes, in Louisville, Kentucky in 2006 with Chris Owens of LORDS. That release appears on Rome Plow Records. Around the same period, the band tours with LORDS and Ed Gein after returning home.

Blues then releases a full-length album, Snakepit, on Corrosive Recordings and tours in support of it. The band later issues the EP Heavy Sci-Fi online for free through its MySpace page. Its line-up continues to change, and at points the group performs as an instrumental act.

Later activity

After further personnel changes, the remaining members re-form under a new name. The project then goes on hiatus in fall 2009.
