Blues Boy Kings

Blues Boy Kings are a UK blues rock band based around Boston and Lincoln. They perform original material that draws on blues, rhythm and blues, harmonica blues and guitar-driven rock, with a sound described through a mix of modern blues, roots influences and current styles.

Music and style

The band’s songs include pieces with a dance-like feel, such as “East Shore”, and others with a punk-influenced new wave edge, such as “21 Days”. Their recordings feature prominent guitar work, reflective lyrics and strong vocal delivery. The rhythm section is described as solid, with harmonica appearing in some arrangements, alongside Hammond organ.

Members and writing

Jason North plays lead guitar, sings lead vocals and writes the group’s songs. He is the chief songwriter and has written around 30 to 40 original songs over a period of more than a decade, which the band aims to promote.

Recording

The band has recorded five songs professionally at TABBY ROAD STUDIOS in Swinderby, near Lincoln.
