Blue Pearl

Blue Pearl is a United Kingdom house and rave group active from 1990 to 1993, formed by American singer Durga McBroom and British musician Martin Glover, who is also known as Youth. The act works across techno and house, and its releases remain associated with early 1990s club music.

Career

Blue Pearl charted two songs on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. Their best-known track, “Naked In The Rain”, reaches number 4 on the UK Singles Chart and number 5 on the U.S. dance chart in 1990. It is originally issued on blue vinyl. The follow-up single, “(Can You) Feel the Passion”, reaches number 1 in 1992 and is a response to Bizarre Inc’s “Playing With Knives”.

The group also has a minor UK hit with “Little Brother”, which reaches number 31 in November 1990. Their tracks are regarded as classic examples of early house music and continue to be remixed and played in nightclubs.
