Blue Bishops

Blue Bishops work at the rocky end of rhythm and blues and blues, while also being known for performances that shift in dynamics from very quiet passages to much louder ones. The group has a career spanning more than 12 years and performs in a wide range of venues and situations. It plays in countries including Holland, Hungary, Belgium and the Bahamas.

The band’s studio album Deep draws attention across the genre. On release, Blues in Britain gives it a rare 9/10 rating, and Blues Matters places it among the top ten albums of the year. It also receives airplay on stations in several continents, from classic rock outlets to specialist blues programmes.

The group’s sound crosses genres in part because of the different influences in its current and former line-ups, which shape its original material. Past guests and members include Martin Turner of Wishbone Ash, Martin Barre of Jethro Tull, Johnathan Noyce of Tull, Carmelo Luggieri, Kiki Dee’s guitarist and co-writer, and the blues guitarist Ben Smith.
