Blue Bendy

Blue Bendy are an indie rock group from London. The six-piece form in South London, although the members originally come from different parts of the UK. They develop a shared sound from a set of influences that includes Stereolab, Broadcast, Tindersticks, Boards of Canada, Deerhoof and Arthur Russell.

The band’s music combines guitars and synths with electronic and post-rock elements, alongside brooding, witty lyrics. Their songs also use playful melodies and instrumentation, and a dry sense of humour runs through both the writing and the arrangement.

Blue Bendy’s live performances change from show to show. Band members swap instruments and experiment with different settings, and the result is described as raw and confrontational. Vocals are half-spoken and delivered by Arthur Nolan.

They share stages with Squid, Omni, Drahla, Tiña and Porridge Radio.
