Blood Incantation are a progressive death metal band from Denver, United States, active since 2011. The group consists of Paul Riedl on vocals and guitar, Morris Kolontyrsky on guitar, Isaac Faulk on drums, and Jeff Barrett on bass.

Style and themes

The band plays death metal with progressive and technical elements, and their sound also includes ambient, Berlin school, dark ambient and electronic influences. Their lyrics mainly deal with space and death. Their music is described as combining technical playing, heavy riffs, cavernous vocals and unusual melodic and atmospheric passages.

Releases

Blood Incantation release their debut album, Starspawn, through Dark Descent Records in 2016. The album receives critical acclaim from music publications including Decibel and Stereogum. Their later releases include the demos Blood Incantation, Demo II and Astral Spells, the EP Interdimensional Extinction, the split release with Spectral Voice, the albums Hidden History of the Human Race and Absolute Elsewhere, the EP Timewave Zero, and the single Luminiscent Bridge.
