Blind Justice
Blind Justice is a Dutch thrash metal band from Rotterdam, active from 1989. The group’s line-up includes Hans Hanson, Jeroen Nagel, Attila Szabo and Roel van der Sluis. It begins as a traditional thrash metal act with an unusual instrumentation, using violin and saxophone alongside guitars, bass guitar and double bass drumming.
Style and development
In its early period, the band’s sound centres on thrash metal but also incorporates violin and saxophone, which gives the music a less conventional arrangement. Over time, Blind Justice moves towards a heavier and groovier style, and later recordings no longer include saxophone or violin after personnel changes.
Recordings and collaborations
The band’s releases include the full-length Sax and Violins, the EP In Equilibrium..., the Pissed EP, and the second full-length Hurt, which appears on Killer Whale Records. Hurt is received well by fans and press, although live performances are described as more intense than the studio recordings. Blind Justice also works with the Dutch nederhop group Osdorp Posse, contributing heavy metal grooves to their rap material and touring with them around the Netherlands for years.
