Bleeding Through

Bleeding Through is a Californian metalcore band from Woodlake, California, active since 1999. The group is also associated with death metal, deathcore, melodic death metal and hardcore, and its line-up has included Brandan Schieppati, Scott Danough, Dave Peters, Chad Tafolla, Javier Van Huss, Troy Born, Vijay Kumar, Molly Street, Derek Youngsma, Brian Lepke, Mick Morris, Ryan Wombacher, Jona Weinhofen, Dave Nassie and Welcome to Your Life.

Career

The band begins in Orange County, California, and builds its early profile around its Trustkill Records debut, This Is Love, This Is Murderous. That album produces the singles On Wings of Lead and Love Lost in a Hail of Gunfire, both of which receive music videos. During this period, the band also attracts attention from Spin, Revolver, Metal Hammer, Kerrang! and Alternative Press, and it opens for AFI shortly before the album appears.

Bleeding Through follows with extensive touring, including the Mutilation Tour, Ozzfest 2004, the third annual MTV2 Headbanger's Ball: The Tour with Cradle of Filth, a headlining run on the Strhess Tour in 2005, Warped Tour 2005, and dates in Europe, Australia and Japan.

Albums and line-up changes

The Truth, released in 2006, is described as a defining album for the band. In early 2007, guitarist Scott Danough leaves and is replaced on tour by Jona Weinhofen. In 2008 the band records Declaration at Black Cat Studio in Vancouver, British Columbia. That album marks a stylistic shift towards a darker sound with black metal influence. It is well received but sells poorly, and the band leaves Trustkill.

By 2009, Dave Nassie joins and the band signs with Rise Records. Bleeding Through then releases its self-titled album, which continues the direction of Declaration. In 2012 the band releases The Great Fire. After announcing a split in 2013 and playing farewell dates in 2014, the group later returns and releases Love Will Kill All.

Labels and status

The band records and releases music through Prime Directive Records, Indecision Records, Trustkill Records, Rise Records and SharpTone Records. It remains active.
