Bleak Squad are an Australian four-piece made up of Mick Turner, Mick Harvey, Adalita and Marty Brown. The group brings together musicians known for work in a number of long-running and critically regarded acts, including Dirty Three, Mess Esque, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey, The Birthday Party, Magic Dirt and Art of Fighting.

The name reflects the group’s loose, collaborative makeup and the dark mood of its music. Adalita describes it as pointing both to the collection of players involved and to the noir-like atmosphere of the songs.
