Blackberry Wood

Blackberry Wood is a Vancouver group that forms in January 2006. It plays a blend of alt-country, gypsy and circus-influenced music, with swing, brass and swing country elements also associated with its sound. The group builds a reputation for energetic live shows and a dance-focused style that works in bars, at parties and at festivals.

Recordings

The group records two albums: Blackberry Wood in 2007 and Traveling Horse Opry in 2010. It is also working on a third album with Steven Drake, a musician and producer who has worked on Trouble at the Henhouse by The Tragically Hip and Trusted by Millions by 54-40.

Performances and touring

Blackberry Wood tours in Canada and internationally. It appears at festivals including Glastonbury, Frostbite, Robson Valley, Artswells, Starbelly and Islands Folk Fest.
