Black Stage contains 3 live tracks with Keiji Haino accompanied by acoustic guitar and violin. The style of this album lies somewhere between European Free Improvisation and Jazz. It seems to have the motivations of Improvisation, with each musician in independent control of where the music is going, but with each of these three musicians of the same mind as to where they would like to take it. The musicians are in synch with each other and there are some nice cohesive melodies during the performance. As far as I know, this is the only place to hear Haino on a wind instrument.
