Black Pistol Fire is a blues rock duo based in Austin and Toronto, with roots in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The group consists of Kevin McKeown, who plays guitar and sings lead vocals, and Eric Owen, who plays drums.

McKeown and Owen meet in kindergarten at a North Toronto elementary school and begin playing rock music together in high school. Their sound combines elements of classic southern rock and garage punk, and it is also described as drawing on blues rock and indie rock. The band’s style is associated with garage rock, southern rock, blues, and rock more broadly.

The duo’s music is compared with early Kings of Leon, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Black Keys, and Clutch. It is noted for a hard-edged, energetic approach that updates classic rock and roll influences for a contemporary setting.
