BKS

BKS is a Canadian techno group from Toronto. It is formed by radio DJ Chris Sheppard with Hennie Bekker and Greg Kavanagh; the name BKS comes from the initials of Bekker, Kavanagh and Sheppard. The group works in house, dance, electronic and techno contexts.

Releases and recognition

Its best-known tracks include “Take Control” and “The Square Dance Song”, the latter made with Ashley MacIsaac. “I’m in Love with You” and “Living in Ecstasy” are club hits and remain favourites on club and radio mix shows. “Astroplane” wins a Juno Award in 1996.
