Bizzy B

Bizzy B is a UK jungle artist associated with the early development of hardcore into jungle. He is linked with the Brain label, which issues a run of influential releases in the early 1990s, from 1992 to 1994, including tracks and releases such as Darkness, Weekend, Dubplate Wars and 2 Dope EP. The label also releases work by TDK, including the TOG sublabel, and puts out early releases by Marc Caro, later known as Technical Itch, as well as Peshay, DJ Zinc, Mike Slammer and Red Alert.

Label work and releases

Bizzy B’s work on Brain sits within the period when rave-oriented hardcore becomes jungle. The label is described as one of the more forward-looking outlets of that era, and its catalogue includes jungle and breakbeat material with heavy amen chopping. Bizzy B also releases material on other labels, including Slowjam and DarkIII on Whitehouse, and Stamina and Raw Dogs Relik on Suburban Base.

Later projects and aliases

He later produces 2-step and breaks through his Undercover Agents label. He also continues to release drum and bass under the name Warped Science. One of the later tracks mentioned is After F, issued on Charge with DJ Fresh on the same EP.

Style

His output is tied to junglistic hardcore, old-school drum and bass and breakbeat-focused styles, with Brain’s releases presented as a reworking of the old-school sound into a new version of that approach.
