Bizarre Inc.

Bizarre Inc. are a British house and techno group from Stafford, United Kingdom, active from 1989 to 1996. The group is made up of Mark Archer, Cameron Danté, Andy Meecham, Dean Meredith and Carl Turner, and is associated with house, rave and 90s UK dance-pop.

Career

The act is known for a run of club and chart successes in the early 1990s. In 1993, Bizarre Inc. reach number one on the United States Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart twice. I'm Gonna Get You spends two weeks at number one in January and also reaches number 47 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is followed by Took My Love, which also reaches number one for two weeks later in the year. Both tracks feature lead vocals from Angie Brown, a female session singer. A third single, Love In Motion, reaches number four on the dance chart later in 1993.

The group's best-known track remains Playing With Knives, which later forms the basis for Blue Pearl's number one Hot Dance Club Play hit Can You Feel The Passion. In the UK, their biggest singles are Playing with Knives, which reaches number four, and I'm Gonna Get You, which reaches number three and becomes a crossover dance-pop hit, among the year's top-selling singles.

Albums

Bizarre Inc.'s three major singles appear on their first album, Energique, released in 1992. They also issue a second album, Surprise, in 1996.

Later activity

Two members of the original line-up later release music under the name Chicken Lips.
