Bison

Bison is the name used by more than one group, but the best-documented act is the Canadian heavy band from Vancouver, also known as Bison B.C. It grows out of the ashes of the Vancouver skate-thrash band S.T.R.E.E.T.S. and presents a heavy sound built around large, dense riffs, fuzzed-out guitar work and a live style associated with high volume and damaged equipment. Its early material is described as drawing on punk rock anger and a revolutionary attitude, alongside lyrical references to figures such as white wizards, the king of swine and a mythical creature called the Stokasaurus.

Vancouver heavy band

The Vancouver version of Bison records its debut album, Earthbound, with Jesse Gander of The Hive, aiming to capture the force of its stage performance on tape. The band is associated with a particularly aggressive live presentation and is linked in style to stoner metal, sludge metal, sludge and stoner rock, with elements of rapcore noted in some listings.
