Birthday Club is an indie and electronic pop band made up of Lindsay J. Haynes and Luke Hall. Formed in 2006, the pair both originally come from Bristol, where they meet as young teenagers and first play together in a band called The Metro. That earlier group plays local shows and releases an independent EP before the members drift apart when four of them move away to university.

Haynes and Hall are based in London and Portsmouth respectively, and they continue to work together mostly by e-mail and post. They release demos and unfinished tracks online, with the aim of eventually recording an album.
