Birdy Nam Nam
Birdy Nam Nam are a Paris-based DJ group formed in 2001. The line-up is DJ Pone, DJ Crazy B, Lil'Mike and DJ Need. They work in electro, electronic, electronica, jazz, R&B and turntablism, and are known as a live DJ crew that treats the turntable as a musical instrument.
Career
The group wins several prizes during its career, including the DMC Technics 2002 World TEAM Championships. Their self-titled debut album appears in 2006 on Uncivilized World Records. In March 2006 they perform at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas.
Name and membership
The group name comes from a line in the 1968 film The Party, directed by Blake Edwards. DJ Pone later leaves the group, but Birdy Nam Nam continues as a trio.
