Bill Posters Will Be Band
Bill Posters Will Be Band is a comic musical group formed in 1983 by musicians who have been members of The Bonzo Dog Band and Bob Kerr's Whoopee Band. The original line-up includes Biff Harrison, Jim “Golden Boots” Chambers, Evil John Gieves Watson, Sam Spoons, Hugh Crozier and Roger Ruskin Spear.
Performance history
The group still performs on the first Thursday of each month at The Bull's Head in Barnes, South West London, a jazz venue. The current line-up features Chambers, Harrison, Watson, Spoons, Richard White, Peter Shade and Megs Etherington.
Guests and connections
The band sometimes invites special guests onstage, including Master Ruxton Hayward, who inspires the character Bluebottle in the British radio series The Goon Show.
