Bibi is the stage name of French techno producer Frédéric Tharreau. He works in house music and related club styles, and he is also known for radio presenting and remix work.

Career

In the late 1980s, Bibi works with Dimitri from Paris and discovers house music through that collaboration. He goes on to produce, programme, mix and host Better Days on NRJ, described as France’s first radio network, for seven years. The programme becomes a long-running reference house show and ends on 16 October 2004.

He continues as a producer after the radio programme ends. Under the name Da Slammin' Phrogz, he reaches number one in the British charts in 2000 with the track Something about the music.

Releases and collaborations

Bibi signs Tequila Slam to Defected in 2004. He also signs Macumba Walélé to Africanism, and Zumzum and Summer to the New Yorker label Chez Record. He works on a project with singer CeCe Peniston.

His productions lead to remixes for a number of major artists, including Stardust, Dimitri from Paris, Kojak, Cerrone, Mousse T and Superfunk.
