Bez23

Bez23 is a UK psytrance DJ, party organiser and music producer. He starts DJing in 1992, after finding that he can make “tripping tapes” more smoothly by using two record players and a mixer.

Free party scene and psytrance work

He has been involved in the free party scene since the early 1990s, promoting trance parties first, then Goa and later psytrance events. He also works as a psytrance resident at Bradford night Kulu, where he organises the chill-space.

Event and festival activity

Under the name Synchronistic Sounds, he organises the chill-out space for the northern festival Shamania in collaboration with Si Splatt from Leeds psytrance night Cabbage. He also appears at other events and festivals, playing psychedelic electronic music between live bands and taking part in a range of gatherings including Sunrise Summer Solstice, Glade, Big Green Gathering, IDSpiral, Northern Green Gathering, Thornborough Music Festival, Masterpeace, Solfest, Psycle, Midday Mooners, Strange Daze, Acid Monkey, Stereo Chemistry, Sunrise, Wingmakers, Kaboodle, Bad By Design, Project Ozma, Alien Resonance, Awakening, Planet Zogg, Relativity, Fat Moon, Karma Sounds, Floroworld and MessMedia.

Style and influences

His work is rooted in psychedelic electronic music and psytrance, and he has cited Hawkwind as a major influence.
