Beyond the Break

Beyond the Break is a United States hardcore metal group from New Jersey. The band is active from 2001 to the present and is associated with Doghouse Records.

The group goes through several earlier names before becoming Beyond the Break. It forms in 2000 as Post Dream Conspiracy with a different line-up, then changes its name to SEPSIS and later to Where The Abyss Lies. At that stage the line-up includes Lee on guitar and Joey on drums. The band then adds a new bassist and vocalist, but the line-up continues to shift as members leave and replacements come and go.

In March 2008, the band adopts the name Beyond the Break when bassist Billay and vocalist Jordan join. Jordan leaves in June 2008 to form Psychopomps, I Capture All Your Monsters, and to continue solo work under the name Chandaka. Later in the year, Billay also leaves, and the band briefly uses short-term replacements before rebuilding again with a completely new line-up under the name Fear Driven Violence.

The group is also described as a progressive hardcore metal band, with its earlier material and line-up changes marking a series of transitions across multiple names and formations.
