Beyond Creation

Beyond Creation is a death metal group from Montréal, Canada, active since 2005. The band develops a style that combines technical death metal, progressive death metal, melodic elements and extreme blasting metal.

Formation and line-up

The group forms in Montréal in 2005 under the inspiration of Simon Girard and Nicolas Domingo Viotto. After several years of searching for musicians interested in extreme progressive death metal, Kevin Chartré introduces Guyot Begin-Benoit to Girard. After an audition, he joins the band, and Viotto later leaves. Chartré then takes his place. In January 2010, Dominic “Forest” Lapointe contacts the band after hearing the song “Injustice Revealed” and joins the line-up. Lapointe leaves in early 2015 for personal reasons and is replaced by Hugo Doyon-Karout.

Current members

The group’s listed members are Kevin Chartré, Simon Girard, Philippe Boucher and Hugo Doyon-Karout. Girard handles vocals and guitars, Chartré plays guitar, Doyon-Karout plays bass, and Boucher plays drums.

Style

Beyond Creation’s music brings together progressive and technical riffs with growled vocals and a broad extreme metal influence. The band describes its sound as having evolved over time into its own approach to death metal.
