Beverley Craven
Beverley Craven is a British singer-songwriter working in classic pop and rock. Born in 1963 in Colombo, United Kingdom, she is best known for her 1991 hit “Promise Me”, which reaches number 3 in the UK singles chart and appears on her self-titled debut album, released in 1990.
Craven achieves her greatest commercial success in the early 1990s. Over the following two years, she adds another five UK chart entries. Her work places her within the UK pop tradition, with a catalogue centred on melodic, vocal-led songs.
She meets singer-songwriter Colin Campsie backstage at a Tears for Fears concert, and they marry. The couple have three daughters. They live in Buckinghamshire.
Craven survives breast cancer in 2005 and is given the all clear in February 2006.
