Best Coast

Best Coast is a Los Angeles duo formed in 2009. The group consists of Bethany Cosentino, who writes, plays guitar and sings, and Bobb Bruno, who plays guitar and multiple other instruments. The act is active from 2009 to the present and is associated with dream pop, garage rock, indie pop, indie rock, lo-fi, surf, garage pop and beach rock.

Releases

After issuing a run of 7-inch and cassette-only singles, Best Coast releases its debut album, Crazy For You, in 2010. The record gains unexpected commercial attention after internet buzz builds around the duo. The band follows with The Only Place in 2012, produced by Jon Brion, then the EP Fade Away in 2013. Its third studio album, California Nights, arrives in 2015.

Later work

Always Tomorrow follows as an album centred on Cosentino’s reflections on the previous decade of the band and her personal life. It is presented as a release shaped by experiences including touring, heartbreak, sobriety, public identity and gratitude.

Activity

Best Coast spends much of 2011 touring and playing festivals, and continues to tour in support of its later releases.
