Bernhoft

Bernhoft is the stage name of Norwegian singer-songwriter Jarle Bernhoft, who is from Nittedal, Norway. He is also styled as Bern/hoft. Born in 1976, he works as a singer and performs in styles associated with dance-pop, indie pop, pop, R&B, soul, funk and related genres.

Career

Bernhoft becomes a solo artist in 2005 after the dissolution of Span. At first, he releases recordings under his birth name, drawing heavily on soul, funk and related musical styles. He is associated with several acts, including BigBang, Span, Bernhoft & The Fashion Bruises and Explicit Lyrics.

Solo work

In 2011, he releases Solidarity Breaks under the Bernhoft name while based in Oslo, Norway. The album reaches number one on the Norwegian album chart and helps establish him more widely in Norway after he has already built a solid audience through his solo work.
