Ben Read is a guitarist associated with Framework, Earth Crisis, Oversight and Shenoem. He is presented as a Chicago-based or California-based musician, and is described as the brother of multi-instrumentalist Dan Read.

His debut CD, Murder In The Justice Quad, builds a cult following. A second album, Reading Rainbow, is described as having been recorded during his sophomore year of college.

One account of a live performance says he leaves a venue after arguing with audience members who are talking during the set; he later apologises to them, while still criticising their behaviour.
