Ben Kingsley

Ben Kingsley is a British actor born in 1943. He is also known by his birth name, Krishna Pandit Bhanji, and uses the honorific Sir, with the post-nominal CBE.

He wins major awards across film and recorded performance, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award. He is best known for playing Mohandas Gandhi in the 1982 film Gandhi, a role that brings him the Academy Award for Best Actor.

In addition to his screen work, he receives a Grammy at the 1985 Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word or Non-musical Recording for The Words of Gandhi.
