Belako

Belako is an indie rock and post-punk group from Vizcaya, Spain, active since 2011. The band consists of Josu Ximun Billelabeitia on guitar and vocals, Lore Billelabeitia on bass, keyboards and vocals, Cris Lizarraga on vocals and keyboards, and Lander Zalakain on drums and vocals. It is based in Mungia, in Vizcaya.

Early releases and label

After several concerts and two demo tapes, Belako wins a radio competition that leads to festival appearances, including Bilbao BBK Live. The group releases its first full-length record, Eurie, in 2013 and tours it for more than fifty concerts. In 2014 it releases two EPs and sets up its own label, Belako Rekords.

Further albums, touring and awards

In 2016 Belako releases Hamen and tours internationally, playing more than 100 concerts in countries including Portugal, England, Scotland, Mexico and Germany. The band receives prizes including the Ojo Crítico from RNE and the award for Best Live Show at the Premios MIN. In 2017 it releases Render Me Numb, Trivial Violence and undertakes a world tour that includes Russia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, the United States, Germany, England and Scotland. The following year it adds more dates and appears at Vive Latino in Mexico, SXSW in Austin and Community Festival in London. At the 2018 Premios MIN it receives awards for Best Artist, Best Live Show and Best Video Clip.
