Beer
Beer is a United States garage rock group with roots in Athens, Ohio and later Cincinnati. It forms in 1991 at Ohio University and runs until 1995. The band consists of Pat O'Callaghan on vocals and guitar, Greg Tudor on vocals and bass, and Mike Tittel on vocals and drums. The three musicians are childhood friends from Cincinnati’s East Side.
Style and influences
The group draws on a wide range of pop and rock references. Its sound recalls the Beach Boys period around Pet Sounds, as well as the dBs, King Crimson, The Raisins, and at times British pub rock. It is described as a blend of pop influences rather than a single fixed style.
After the band
After Beer splits up, O'Callaghan and Tittel form Pidgin. Tittel also plays as touring drummer for the Loud Family in 1996. Tudor works in live and studio settings with acts including Cari Clara, Turnbull ACs, and Roger Klug. Tittel and Tudor later reunite as the rhythm section backing Roger Klug.
