Beehive

Beehive is a Seattle pop and electronic duo active since 2004. The group begins as a studio project between two close friends, Alethea, also known as Butterfly Beats, and David Miller. Both study neurobiology together at the University of Washington before turning to music as a shared career, recording songs in a back-and-forth process in which each adds ideas, melodies and riffs.

Style and work

Beehive combines electronic music with pop hooks and rock influence. The duo later performs at clubs and festivals across the Pacific Northwest, and its high-energy live shows help build a following. Its music also receives radio play following the release of Cycle A.

Members

Alethea performs on laptop, keyboards, harmonica and vocals. David Miller performs on guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals.

Their discography includes the demo Cycle A from 2005, the EP Operation Artichoke from 2006 and the LP Pretty Little Thieves from 2007.
