Beautiful Swimmers
Beautiful Swimmers are a Washington, DC electronic duo centred on Andrew Field-Pickering, who also records as Maxmillion Dunbar. They are associated with house, dance, electronica and funk, and their work brings together classic dance records, obscure selections and raw exclusives from underground scenes.
Future Times and related work
Field-Pickering co-runs the Future Times label, which develops alongside a wider east coast network of producers and labels in the United States. Beautiful Swimmers release vinyl on Future Times and other imprints, and their remixes draw on a range of production methods and influences. Field-Pickering also issues music under his Maxmillion Dunbar name, including the album House of Woo on RVNG, and he releases a drum tracks 12-inch on LIES as Dolo Percussion.
Style and releases
The duo’s music moves across genre boundaries and keeps a shifting sound rather than a fixed formula. Their records and DJ sets circulate among collectors, and their tracks also appear in film soundtracks. Their 2013 album Son follows a pair of 12-inch singles and represents a further step in the group’s studio work.
