Beat Fatigue
Beat Fatigue is a producer, DJ and guitarist from Amsterdam. He starts playing guitar at the age of ten and builds his sound around performing and recording his own guitar, bass and synth parts rather than relying on samples. This gives his music an organic, live-band feel.
His style combines elements of jazz, blues, glitch, dubstep, soul, hip hop, neuro and funk, with funk as a central thread. The music is described in terms of swinging bass lines, jazzy chord progressions, layered MIDI parts, effects, vocal chops, punchy drums and guitar improvisation.
His guitar playing draws inspiration from Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Scofield. In live sets, he combines live guitar jams with glitch hop. He is associated with glitch hop and funk, and his work also reflects Dutch electronic and sample-based production.
Beat Fatigue’s aim is to create a new sound from the different influences he has gathered through his musical development, while keeping the energy focused on dance-oriented rhythms.
