Bearfist is a four-piece metal group from Essex, originally associated with Chelmsford. The band forms in late 2014 after an informal conversation between friends leads to the idea of starting a project together. It begins with a rehearsal-room session built around a large number of riff ideas, which are then shaped into more structured songs.

Formation and early activity

As the writing develops, the band refines its material and adds Rob as vocalist, completing the line-up. Bearfist then records a demo and makes its live debut in early 2015.

Style

The group is associated with metalcore, metal, groove metal and hardcore punk, and its sound is described as a groove-heavy wall of noise.
