Battlecross

Battlecross is a US melodic thrash and death metal band from Canton, Michigan, active from 2003. The group includes Tony Asta, Hiran Deraniyagala, Don Slater, Kyle Gunther and Alex Bent. Their music combines melodic death metal and thrash metal, with a technical and heavy style that also draws on death and more technical metal elements.

Recording and releases

Battlecross signs to Metal Blade Records in May 2011. Their debut album, Pursuit of Honor, is recorded and co-produced by Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome Recording Studio in Bay City, Michigan, and is released worldwide in August 2011. The band uses the abbreviation “BX” for the group name.

Live activity

The band shares stages with acts including Overkill, Gwar, The Absence, Dying Fetus, Woe of Tyrants, Vader, The Faceless, Vital Remains, Paul Dianno and Mushroomhead. It also tours with Diamond Plate and Rose Funeral in fall and winter 2011, and appears at CMJ in Brooklyn, New York, alongside Turbid North, Kvelertak and Skeletonwitch.
