Batsch
Batsch are an indie pop group from Coventry, England, active since 2013. They form after the breakup of the earlier project Don't Move, and the lineup brings together singer and guitarist Mason Le Long, bassist Joe Carvell, drummer Matt Rheeston, and accordionist and multi-instrumentalist Andy Whitehead.
Style and influences
The group plays smart, groove-oriented dance-pop with references to classic art rock and to more recent indie acts. Their sound takes cues from Talking Heads, while also drawing comparison with Field Music and Dutch Uncles.
Releases
Batsch work with British label Tin Angel Records, continuing a relationship from their previous group. Their first release is the five-track EP Tiles, which appears in 2013, followed by another five-track EP, Collar, in 2014. The group also plans a debut full-length album.
