Basshunter

Basshunter is the stage name of Jonas Erik Altberg, a Swedish producer and singer-songwriter from Halmstad, Sweden. He begins making music under this name in 2002, using Fruity Loops, and first releases material through his own website.

Early releases and breakthrough

His early albums include The Old Shit and The Bassmachine, both released independently in the early 2000s. In 2006 he signs with Warner Music and issues the single Boten Anna, which becomes one of his best-known tracks. In 2007 he releases Now You're Gone, with rewritten lyrics aimed at an international audience. The single reaches number one on the UK Singles Chart and stays there for five weeks.

Albums and singles

Basshunter works on Now You're Gone: The Album during 2007, and the album appears in 2008. Five singles are released from it: Now You're Gone, All I Ever Wanted, Angel in the Night, I Miss You, and Walk on Water. Another single, I Promised Myself, follows in 2009. In 2010, he debuts Saturday as the first single from a planned fourth studio album.

Television appearance

In 2010, Basshunter appears on the final series of Celebrity Big Brother in the UK. He reaches the final and finishes in fourth place.
