Basia Bulat is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Toronto, and is based in London, Ontario. Her work sits within folk, indie folk and singer-songwriter traditions.

She releases a self-titled independent EP in 2005, followed by her debut album, Oh My Darling, in 2007. Her second album, Heart Of My Own, appears in 2010. She is noted for a distinctive vocal style and for using instrumental backing alongside her voice in live performance.

Bulat appears on the LOLA 2007 line-up and is featured in Now! magazine. Her first album receives praise in Exclaim! and on several online publications. In 2010 she is nominated for the Polaris Music Prize, and in 2011 she is nominated for a Juno Award in the Best New Artist category.
