Basement Torture Killings are a London death metal group active since 2007. The band is formed in the winter of that year by past and present members of Thus Defiled and Scarabaeus.

Style and themes

The group plays old school death metal and is also associated with deathgrind, grindcore and related metal styles. Their name is often abbreviated to BTK. Their presentation draws heavily on horror imagery and extreme-gore themes, and their early description frames them as a band with a horror-film character rather than a conventional metal act.

Release history

The First Cumming is their debut release and contains six tracks. It establishes the band’s gore-focused death metal sound and is presented as an early statement of their style.
