Barefoot
Barefoot is a dance and electronica group active from 1988 to the present, described as a world music group. The name is used for more than one act: one version is the project of singer Sam Obernik and producer and remixer Tommy D, while another is the work of Tom Parker, a producer from Cornwall in the UK.
Sam Obernik and Tommy D project
The best-known Barefoot line-up brings together Sam Obernik, who is also known for her work with Tim Deluxe on It Just Won’t Do, and Tommy D, a producer and remixer. The project focuses on bridging dance music with more conventional songwriting and musicianship through reinterpretations of club classics. Its self-titled debut album includes versions of White Lines, Born Slippy, It’s Like That, Hideaway, Lazy and It Just Won’t Do.
Tom Parker project
Another act using the Barefoot name is Tom Parker, a producer from Cornwall. This version of Barefoot has signings to Influenza Minus and a recmix on Point Audio.
