Bare Noize
Bare Noize is a UK electronic duo from the United Kingdom, made up of Daniel Brown and Oliver Pile. The group works in dubstep and drum and bass, and is also associated with grime and filthstep. Based in London, they begin releasing music in 2009 and build a reputation for technical production, audio engineering and multi-instrumental skills.
Releases and labels
Bare Noize issue recordings on several labels, including Mau5trap, Universal, Atlantic, OWSLA and Virgin. Their track “Chucky” and the release “Filth Lummox,” both from 2009, help establish their profile in the evolving dubstep scene. They also release “Prepare To Die” and “Twilight Zone” on Borgore’s label.
Career development
The duo gain wider attention after the track “Harry,” a remix made for the Foreign Beggars’ Dented imprint of Medison feat. Skrein, becomes a major dubstep anthem in 2010. Its spread online brings them broader recognition and attracts interest from major labels. Their work also leads to contact with Skrillex, and the two exchange production ideas before collaborating on two tracks for Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, released on Mau5trap.
Remixes and collaborations
In 2011, Bare Noize complete remixes for Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding and Lady Gaga. These releases extend their audience beyond the core dubstep and bass music scene while keeping their focus on detailed production.
