Banks

Banks is the stage name of Jillian Rose Banks, an American singer and songwriter from Los Angeles. Her work spans alternative pop, alternative R&B, contemporary R&B, electropop, R&B and trip hop.

Career

She releases music under the name Banks, styled in all caps, and first comes to wider attention with two EPs, Fall Over and London, both released in 2013. Her debut album, Goddess, follows in 2014 and reaches number 12 on the US Billboard 200. Its best-known single, “Beggin for Thread”, is certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Her second studio album, The Altar, appears in 2016 and becomes her second top 20 album in the United States. Her third album, III, is released in 2019, peaks at number 21 on the Billboard 200 and reaches number 3 on the Top Albums Sales chart.
