Bahr

Bahr is a German indie folk, indie rock and alternative rock artist. The project is associated with singer-songwriter Yusuf Bahar and drummer-percussionist Nihal Saruhanlı, with bass player Ceren Bettemir joining in 2019. The act forms in Istanbul in 2016 and develops a sound that draws on western folk music and oriental culture, while also carrying traces of 1990s rock.

Releases and recognition

In 2019, Bahr wins the 21st Battle of the Bands music contest organised by Radyo Boğaziçi. Following that, the group releases its debut EP, I Resist, on Dokuz Sekiz Müzik, alongside a music video for “Those Streets” from the same EP.
