Bad Bunny is the stage name of Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, a Puerto Rican rapper and singer from San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is associated with hip hop, latin, reggaeton and trap latino, and is recognised as a leading figure in Latin trap.

He first gains wider attention in 2016 with the song “Diles”, which leads to a recording contract with Hear This Music. His early rise continues through high-profile collaborations, including “I Like It” with Cardi B and J Balvin, which reaches number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and “Mía” featuring Drake.

Bad Bunny’s debut studio album, X 100pre, appears in 2018 and reaches number 10 on the US Billboard 200. In 2019, he releases the collaborative album Oasis with J Balvin, which reaches number nine on that chart. His second solo album, YHLQMDLG, follows in 2020 and becomes the highest-charting all-Spanish-language album on the Billboard 200 at the time, reaching number two.

Later in 2020, he releases the compilation Las que no iban a salir and the studio album El Último Tour Del Mundo, which becomes the first all-Spanish-language album to reach number one on the Billboard 200. Its lead single, “Dákiti”, enters the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100.

His 2022 album Un Verano Sin Ti spends 13 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200, becomes the most-streamed album on Spotify, and is the first Spanish-language album to receive a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. It also produces several commercially successful singles. He later adds two more number-one Billboard 200 albums with Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana in 2023 and Debí Tirar Más Fotos in 2025.

Bad Bunny becomes the first non-English-language artist to be Spotify’s most-streamed artist of the year, doing so for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022. Billboard names him Artist of the Year in 2022. Over his career, he receives three Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards, eight Billboard Music Awards and thirteen Lo Nuestro Awards.

Alongside music, he also appears in professional wrestling. He makes his WWE debut in 2021 and appears at WrestleMania 37, the 2022 Royal Rumble and Backlash in 2023. He is also a former WWE 24/7 Champion.
